PROJECT CENTIPEDE

Project Centipede is an organization that was founded in February 1990 by Heinz and Louise Pickart in order to help disadvantaged children in Romania. When an Hungarian speaking member of the Reformed Church returned from delivering a truck load of food to several places in the Transylvanian area of Rumania and shared his impressions about a children's home with little or no heat and the fact that the children didn't have any shoes to wear, Heinz and Louise decided to start a project that would ensure every child in that area had a pair of shoes and named it "Project Centipede".
Since 1990 this Project Centipede has grown into an organization that presently cares for over 1000 children, supplying food, medicine, clothing, toys and other needed goods to orphanages, schools, hospitals and homes in remote areas where people have little or no access to certain goods.
